Belen Silva, from Argentina (living now in Sydney), will be back on Sunday 23 October to conduct her last workshops of 2011 in Newcastle:

Sunday 23th October 2011

Workshop 7 – 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm: ’The walk: parallel, crossed in milonga’
Workshop 8 – 3:15 pm to 4:15 pm: ’Complex sequences for small spaces’

Venue: Cardiff Senior Citizens Hall, cnr Myall Rd. and Harrison St., Cardiff.

Guided practica: Also, a guided practica from 4:15pm to 5pm on each of the above days.

Cost: $25 per person for one workshop, $40 per person for both; $70 per month if doing the 4 workshops of the month.

Workshops and milonga with Dante and Angelica, 8 and 9 October

In a last-minute opportunity this young and up-coming couple from Buenos Aires is visiting Newcastle to conduct workshops and perform at a milonga this weekend. Dante won the salon category of the World Tango Championships in 2007. Together with his partner Angelica, they dance a very elegant style of tango and are not to be missed.

Venue: 153A Brunker Rd. Adamstown at Senior Citizen Centre.

Workshop 1: Close Embrace Tango – Emphasis on rhythmical movement and techniques for connecting different movements on the dance floor.

Time: 2.00pm to 3.30pm.

Workshop 2: Combinations – Understanding the movements of giros, sacadas, barridas.

Time: 4.00pm to 5.30pm.
